ARTIST STATEMENT

As a human working in clay, one of my marks in history will be left with pots.
This mark deals with an extensive tradition of pottery as well as a broader human experience.
I hope to create work that values the pottery tradition, respects the nature and beauty
of the materials, and reflects my individual character.

I am searching for pots that release their energy slowly.
I want to create pots that don't try to be more than they are.
In being what they are they are all they need to be. And by being what they need to be,
they can transform into something more.
