Education
-2005 Post-Baccalaureate Program, Bethel University (Art Department) This one on one mentorship program with Ceramics Professor Kirk Freeman involved kiln building, making a body of work, critiquing my work along with the other 5 fellows in the program, and exhibiting the body of work that was created. A major focus of the program was preparation for Graduate School.

Arts Related Work Experience
-Bethel College Art Department TA (Ceramics) Fall 2001, Spring 2002 Tasks: General studio maintenance, clay/glaze preparation, firing kilns

-Minnesota Museum of American Art, Security Guard and Installation Assistant Tasks: Opening and closing gallery space, cash register, logging attendance, informing guests about the current/upcoming exhibitions and museum in general. Help with gallery prep work for new shows and aid in installation process.

-9th Street Entry Gallery, Gallery Attendant Tasks: Opening and closing the gallery space, interacting with guests and helping set up space for opening receptions and other gallery events.

Kiln Building Experience
-30 cubic foot wood firing kiln, Bethel University. Based on a design by John Neely (Utah State). Worked under the guidance of Ceramics Professor Kirk Freeman.

-25 cubic foot downdraft kiln (propane) Pennock, MN. My own design. Custom built to work with the space and materials available, and suited to accommodate the nature of my work.

-Janet Wingblade Johnson Memorial Art Scholarship
An annual award established in the memory of Janet W. Johnson by her husband, Eugene L. Johnson, professor of art emeritus. This award is given to a promising young artist working in clay, nominated by the ceramics instructor and confirmed by the faculty of the Department of Art.

Installation Experience
-Chicano Now: American Expressions. Minnesota Museum of American Art, St. Paul, Minnesota
-helped install a show containing video and interactive installation works

-Abstract Painting in Minnesota: Selected Works 1930 to the Present. Minnesota Museum of American Art, St. Paul, Minnesota
-helped unpack and hang a show containing approximately 30 paintings along with paintings from the permanent collection.

-Interact/React. Minnesota Museum of American Art, St. Paul, Minnesota
-the majority of the work in this show was interactive work and sculptures that
the artists themselves installed on site in the gallery. I was responsible for helping the artists
with their projects and aiding with a number of various tasks.

-helped with tasks such as hanging works, moving/painting pedestals, sweeping/mopping, lighting, drywall repair and painting.
